Anthony Wong: "One of the easiest things to regret in life is writing an autobiography... I was just a small-time actor who talked a big game, and now I already regret it..."
This book is Anthony Wong's oral account of his dramatic forty-year life from childhood to the present:
The emergence of a mixed-race child from a single-parent family in the Chinese community of the 1960s was a highly incongruous event. Anthony Wong was a wild child growing up in the cracks, and his boarding school days once traumatized him both physically and mentally. Fortunately, he also had teachers who offered warmth during his lonely times. His bumpy road to adulthood brought him experience and wisdom.
He enrolled in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 1985, finally finding his true calling. After graduating, he joined TVB and starred in the well-known series "He Comes from the Jianghu." Anthony Wong, in essence, comes from the Jianghu.
In 1990, at the age of 29, Anthony Wong officially entered the film industry. In 1994, he won the Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Actor for his role in *The Untold Story*. He subsequently won the Best Actor award again in 1999 for *Beast Cops* and in 2019 for *The Lost Tomb*. In 2022, he won the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor for *Daydreaming*. His other awards are too numerous to list.
Through stage production and arts education, "Shenxi Theatre" brings audiences not only joy but also spiritual enrichment. Anthony Wong firmly believes that where there are people, there is hope. After ten years of trials and tribulations, the troupe is thriving. He himself has also found the path he should take.
In 2017, Anthony Wong uploaded a photo of his parents holding him on Facebook. The incident was widely reported, and kind-hearted people helped him find his relatives. At the age of 56, he found his older sister and two older brothers. Anthony Wong spent most of his life healing from his childhood. His method was to let go of burdens and accept himself. The puzzle of his life was now complete.
Editor's Note: "The film 'Autumn in My Heart' showcases Anthony Wong's acting skills, which have been recognized by the public and the industry. Behind his artistic achievements has never been a smooth journey. He did not hide his truest feelings when he encountered difficulties and obstacles: anger, disappointment, and helplessness. How did he get through and continue to move forward in the face of blows that could have made him give up?"
He once said, "I've had many critical moments and many moments of sudden enlightenment in my life."

Choices can be made when there are no unexpected turns or forks in the road ahead. Do you feel like you've reached a dead end, that there's nothing left? If choice itself is an option, you are someone who can create choices for yourself. At the very least, you can choose how you see yourself.
Perhaps we don't have the experience of Qiu Sheng's life being like a play, but everyone has their own breaking point. When you reach that point, you try to change things, and that "trying" is a choice.
"You are who you choose to be" and "Live authentically" are the two key takeaways I most want to share after reading the entire book.
